It is widely acknowledged that males are less likely to change things they are used to than their female counterparts. Once they are familiar with something such as their jobs, houses and telephone numbers, they prefer to keep them rather than looking for something new. The eyeglasses they wear are no exception. I say this because recently I have found that most of my colleagues are always wearing the same eyeglasses since I knew them. I wonder about the reason because my father is this sort of person as well.
When my father retired, it seemed that his life lost color all of a sudden. He still wore his working suit at the beginning and woke up early in the morning, only to find that there was no need to go to work. Naturally, I was worried about him because chances are that people who just get retired are tend to get depression to some extent. However, there were times when I want to talk with him yet he was not willing to because we had no topic. I thought about this over until I found that he was still wearing the prescription eyeglasses which have accompanied him for nearly five years. Ideas came up that I can offer to change a new pair of eyeglasses for him to give him something fresh in life.
It may be awkward to admit that I knew little about his favorites. So I have to ask him for the color and the style that he is fond of. To my surprise, the choices he had made were the same as the eyeglasses on his nose. This may be the reasons why he was not readily to seek for a new life after his retirement-he relied too much on the former ones. However, it was my duty to bring changes to him, which I wanted to start from his eyeglasses.
I made the order instead of him by choosing a pair of bifocal eyeglasses with bold frames. In my opinion, he will be happy with something new that has some similarities with the former one. Meanwhile, the bifocal eyeglasses can suit him better with twice functions including the reading eyeglasses and prescription eyeglasses. It was unexpected that my father was content with the one I have bought for him.
